Police are investigating another attack on a woman in a Seattle park after a man tried to sexually assault an 89-year-old woman at Greenlake early Saturday morning.
According to a department source, the woman was walking around Greenlake at about 5:40am on Saturday when a man approached her near the Greenlake Community Center, forced her to the ground, and tried to pull her pants down.
The woman screamed and fought with the man, who then pulled her to her knees and again tried to force himself on her.
The 89-year-old woman continued to fight with the man, who eventually ran off. Another woman walking through the park came upon the victim and called 911.
The woman wasn’t able to get a very good look at her assailant—it was dark, windy, and rainy at the time of the attack—but told police he was in his 30s or 40s, wearing a camouflage jacket and dark pants.
Police combed the area looking for the suspect, but weren’t able to find him.
It appears the woman was not seriously injured in the attack.
